Remove head & neck, legs, wings, all digestive organs and give it to your bird.
You can skin it if you like or just feed it as is.
Simple as that!;)

Depends on how much mess you want around your aviary/mews....
I 80% pluck it, cut off the legs from the unfeathered part, take out the intestines and crop but leave in the other organs, heart, Liver etc.
Tasty!

Cheers chaps, I think I'll skin them, less plucking feathers in the chamber.:D

Sorry, frozen.
If it is frozen and has come from a reputable breeder....It should have been fasted for at least two days before killing. If so...then just cut the feet off, mash the point of the beak and feed whole. If you are worried about feathers....Pull the tail feathers out and cut the wings off. Those are the big feathers.
Oh this is for larger shortwings, buteos and falcons. If you have a small bird....ask again.

Defrost the quail then sling it in! My birds love them and they have never had any problems with quail feet or feathers. My EEO will sit on a quail for a good while before he breaks into it. It really makes his day!

Does he really leave that much? When I give a quail to my owl all that is left by the next morning is a few feathers.

I'm not a nutrition expert but I think the skin itself may contain something good for the bird anyway so I'd pluck if I were you?!

I would just chop of the lower feet, beak tip and feed whole, loose a few feathers if you want.
By eating the internal organs etc the bird will build it`s immunity up to any micro organisms that manage to survive the freezing process.
If it cannot manage to eat reared quail, what will happen when it breaks into quarry?
