Have a harris egg due to pip sometime today (31.5 days ) as of yet has not started to draw down ,,,,, But has started to twitch strongly when placed on smooth surface
Egg was started in an incubator .. I,m just wondering if it will hatch or not what do you guys think...?

I assume you still have it in an incubator as you have been able to handle it. If there is movement in the egg, then no reason why it shouldn't hatch. You don't say wether you have forced air incubator or not as the humidity is crucial at time of pipping.
Why have you one egg in the inc. anyway and what are you doing with it when it hatches

Hi Jez......You should still be OK M8 but stop turning the egg as soon as it draws down. I have had HH eggs go 33 days before pip and I have also had them pip at 28.5 days. Looking at my records the egg that took 33 days to pip hatched in 14 hours and the 28.5 egg took 86 hours to hatch.
Providing the egg has lost between 15% to 17% from fresh weight it should have no problems.

Yes in incubator forced air brinsea oct 20 was going to move to still air brinsea on high humidity soon as it pips.. Egg isnt from my birds a mate wanted me to try it for him.. I havent let my harris breed this year but she is sitting tight on dummy eggs so she will foster it (hopefully)

Dunno if Dave told you the history of the egg

anyway aircell expanded at 3am this morning by a very small margin
but no longer any movement of the egg on smooth surface

just checked again no more expansion of air cell 13.10
and no movement at all

Looks a gonner .... Ill leave it in the incubator a couple of days yet though
