I am so oooohhhhh

well it winds me up when peoples excuse of deleteing, editing, closing, or whatever is " what would the antis think "
how many times in the forum do you here "well what would the antis think if they read this" maybe if alot of it wasnt Bull then some might change thier mind or atleast see it for themselves.
the whole idea of a forum is to gather round and exchange ideas, experiences, and gain truthfull knowledge, If people are willing to ask a question and get a few answers from some people on this forum and just go with it because they say so and not further their research out with then you want get far. Im all about furthering myself not just buy going by what others say.
God we are all individuals with our own thoughts no one pushes you into things.
Just because someone reads something in a book or a web page and may get upset about it it doesnt mean it shouldnt be discussed.

why does everyone want to please others at the expense of their own believes or pleasure.

BAN THE TEXT ANTIs

god i feel better now......Im going out hunting now

Political correctness once more rears its ugly head on this forum? Freedom of speech sidelined once again?

Try this quote to keep things in perspective:

Monsieur l'abbé, I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write.

Voltaire, letter to M. le Riche, February 6, 1770
French author, humanist, rationalist, & satirist (1694 - 1778)

Yes I agree in a way but we also want to protray a good image for falconry because if all they hear see and experience is killing, bloodshed and things dying, . . . . WE WILL BE TARGETED.

As you know it is not all about those thing, but SO much more.

MOVED FROM GENERAL FALCONRY

question is ...................

do we want to be seen to be skulking around hiding things away and not speaking about them as if they are terrible things to be doing which in itself is ammo for the lentil sucking tree huggers

or do we stand up to them and say f*ck you it is legal so we will keep doing it

my guess is it need to be balanced somewhere in the middle ground, but how to acheive that when falconers can rarely agree on the colour of **** is going to be very very tricky

You are quite right, they are all busy digging up corpses and hiding the remains.

These people will stoop to incredible depths, without a thought for humanity, why on earth do you think they are going to bypass falconry? Because theres only a few of us? There arnt that many guinea pig farmers either.

An admirable axiom we'd all do well to emulate.

"why does everyone want to please others at the expense of their own believes or pleasure. "

"WE WILL BE TARGETED"

"Worrying is the way the responsible citizen of an advanced society demonstrates his virtue: He feels good by feeling bad. But what to worry about?" I picked up this quote somewhere today. Pretty good.

Most are sheep though none of us want to admit it. We follow the flock and often are led to slaughter without a complaint. Occasionally an individual seperates from the flock to become an Eagle. Why do you think the one of the Roman Standards was an eagle, the aquila, the standard of the entire legion?? Lose that standard to an enemy and your dishonored. Eagles win in the minds of most and, we like to think when they lose they go down fighting to the last breath. When life leaves them they only gave up life, the thought of returning to sheepdom never crossed their minds. There are a lot of sheep on this side of the pond too.

OK, I wrote some hokey stuff above. The point is are you going to be a sheep and bleat about the anti's. Or are you going to be an eagle and confront the anti's? You don't have to use their tactics though I think they have some good ones. Your own Winston Churchill said, "we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender" Stand up and do what you were famous for!

If every falconer in the UK were to contribute say 100 pounds to something like a falconry defense fund. They would have some cash to work with. To counter, defend, go on the offensive and badger the anti's. Nothing illegal of course but if you go down you'll go down fighting and not bleating.

Nuff from me for a while. Off in the distance I can hear the drums a'beating.

A most inteligent statment http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/images/smilies/icon_eyes.gif

I ask a question and get a jibe in return!

If you are driven to make a formal complaint why not discuss it with the person with whom you have the gripe with first, you might have found yourself pleasantly suprised but this is obviously not your style is it.

Shame realy but it speaks a volume about you Mr Stotton.

It seems that in-fighting will win the day and we can all shoot ourselves in the foot (as soon as we can get it out of our mouths !).
We obviously dont need antis
I thought divide and conquer was an opposition tactic, not a self destruct manouvere.

I must just come in here to say my views on this issue have nothing whatever to do with the anti fieldsports lobby. If there were no such thing, I'd still be opposed to the use of bagged quarry.

The antis will be antis whatever we do,thats why they are called antis.they would find fault with the colour of your eyes if it suited them. This forum is for discussion of ALL points of falconry and wether you agree with them or not everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you feel strongly enough about a specific point, argue it,but lets be adult about it.

just out of interest and it is probably a waste of breath, but i was talking to a lady who had been a member of the rspca most of her life but who is no longer a member, and she was telling me that the antis infiltrated the rspca as members from as long as fifteen years ago, as the numbers grew and they attended and voted at the AGMS. [a] they managed to oust some of the long term committee members and [b] managed to bring the banning of fox hunting to the fore and finally succeeded.we all know that the banning of fox hunting has been discussed for some years now. just a point worth pondering when having heated and disjointed arguments regarding the future of bop keepers.

We ALL desire, the freedom to express our views (be they politically correct or otherwise) AND we ALL also want to protect and ensure the continuance of our ancient art.
But it would appear that these two, not unreasonable, desires are sadly becoming mutually exclusive. It really will be a VERY BAD day if/when that actually does come about.
I suggest that we will all have to work hard to find 'middle ground' on many issues within the forum.
- Just as a footnote, I have say that I really do detest the current level of 'political correctness' that is foisted on us by the Government (irrespective of the party in Government). Is it any wonder the 'Anti's are thriving!!!

Point taken BJ. Then where it arises 'agree to disagree' must kick in and above all we must strive for solidarity. I think its already been said on this thread 'divide us and conquer us' - we mustn't let that happen.

Unusually, given my propensity to complain about over-moderation; I was not making reference as to how this forum is moderated! Just commenting on my interpretation of the statement, "you will think what we want you to thinkness".
