R.D. DIGBY

FOR SALE

The sale of this beautiful painting offers a new owner the opportunity to own an internationally known falconry work of art by the acclaimed falconry artist: Ron David Digby

This exceptional painting, entitled ‘Eyass Peregrine on Rook’ appears as a colour plate on page 68 of the 2005 revised American Edition of J.G. Mavrogordatos classic treatise ‘A Falcon In The Field’ and in the 2002 Anniversary Edition of ‘The Falconer’, the 75th Anniversary Edition of the British Falconers Club Journal.

This painting is executed in Gouache on board and is framed in a gold coloured frame with a pale grey board mount behind picture glass.

The image size is 41cms x 31.5cms, overall framed size is 57.5cms x 48cms.

The current owner of the painting acquired the work directly from the artist shortly after its production, around the year 2000.

Painted in finely observed detail, the painting depicts the culmination of a successful flight at the rook, a wonderful pictorial record of traditional British falconry.

Ron Digby’s artwork is internationally acclaimed. His work for Tom Cade’s: Falcons of the World, for Hal Webster’s: North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks and for various falconry club journals, is well known.

His work in J.G. Mavrogordatos: A Falcon in the Field, including the painting offered here for sale sit on falconer’s book shelves all over the world.

The current owner and seller of this painting believes that this outstanding example of Ron’s work will represent an appreciating asset that will be admired and enjoyed for generations to come.

Upon sale the painting may be collected or it can be shipped or delivered insured at cost.

Tony, the truth of the matter is that these paintings often depreciate to start with.

Hi Charlie,

there's no doubting that I'm afraid.

Dave contacted me about this painting a couple of months ago, and I spread the word to friends who might have been interested. Each of them said they'd rather pay more and ask Ron to paint their own hawk.

Best wishes,

Tony.
