Ive got the first of my eggs for the season just pipping now. So my first hatched for the season should all being well be a Gyr/Peregrine x Altai. Anyone else got them hatching?

I always thought Gyr-peres were relatively infertile?? Have any others managed to breed from such birds or am I working off old info?

Sprout, both male and female gyr/peregrines are fertile, however the females eggs seem to die in incubation while the males seemen is not very productive, however there is quite a few people breding from male gyr/peregrines (we breed some last year) while no one have sucseded in hatching from a female gyr/peregrine.

Unfortunately the chick died as it started its rotation.

I've got peales out about 20 days old. Two other pairs of peregrines have eggs. Won't know if they are fertile until they hatch underneath the adults. Enclosed is a picture of a bird out of this pair now owned by Dave Knutson.

They vary a lot. Emma, hatched and raised by the parents, flew at 38 ounces. Another falcon hardpenned at 44 ounces. A tiercel or two was 31 ounces at hard penning. Once there was the biggest falcon I've seen in my life. Never weighed her. She was like having your hands around a turkey. Popped her in a box and shipped her off. When I grabbed the tiercel I started thinking someone had slipped an anatum tiercel in as a joke. He was a small tiercel to be sure. So there is some variation in them.

Well were at that stage again got a Peregrine/Lanner hybrid that should be free of its shell in the next twelve hours or so. I will try post some photos after hatch. As Im sat here typing I can hear the occasional chup from the incubation room.
