i know its no big deal to a lot of you out there but i just found a buzzards nest not 1/2 a mile from my house! this is a big deal to me as there were none around here for years, but since foot and mouth a few years ago weve started seeing them more and more often! to have a breeding pair on my doorstep is great. just wanted to share my good news with you.

I'd like to know how many Buzzards are around now, I see as many Buzzards as I do Kestrels and the Spars are getting close. I work near the centre of Doncaster, around the A1, M18 junction there's nearly always one in the air and I've seen one at least a few times soaring over the city centre.

There is a pair on or around my NT land and have seen them several times up on a soar; over the weekend whilst out searching for the 'stolen' HH, we saw about 6 both way up in the thermals and close around the tree line.
Although great to see and watch, it's a bloody pain when we're looking for another broadwing:goodman:

I had the same last year (with two chicks in it) and yesterday saw 5 Buzzards and a Sparrowhawk all circling together above my garden. Red Kite the day before also!
There's a nest or two about a mile from where I live, go out on any nice day and they can usually be seen around. Nothing like hearing the call of a buzzard when your out on a nice day :supz:
They come out and play if you take a camera along too
