How to make your own loop leash.........great for all birds especially the Harris.........no falconers knot to tie, Quick and easy to use........
Hope the pics are easy to follow...............You will need a couple of 4mm Fids to make these.....any marine shop will sell them or make your own from brass fuel pipe for model aircraft...........Cheers, John

John,
where do you get the toggle at the end of the loop from.
They look good and would like to have a go at making them. I had a female harris that was a real b1tch for undoing knots.
All the best,
Mark.

John love the gadget.....ive always had one hell of a problem ( using a needle with looped linnen thread)
....using the same loop leash have you thought of attaching them the way described in Nick Fox understanding birds of prey? it means a bit of modification to the bows ring ( to modify you can spit the ring slide on a sampo swivel and weld the ring up) but then there no way the leash can ride up imbetween the jesses to cause a hang up plus it gives another pivoting point so the leash can spin at the swivel and ring?

Well if it aint broken dont fix it!!!! does the toggle help stop hang ups? as I can see it would stop hawks which undo falconers knot but cant see how it would stop hang ups ( which happen at the swivel/jess end) unless the toggle bit doesnt ride up inbetween the jesses for some reason.?
ps you were a true Gent in the dodgie harris senario and full respect to you.

I think because the toggle is so light it just doesn't seem to get pushed up............
As for the Harris, waiting for him to bring it to me.......but thanks....

Mostly I make them from brass..it has a hollow at one end for the cord to slide into.............4mm and 5mm 16 platt marine cord.......
