Finally got around to getting my bow made at a welders. Tried to make it very clear what I wanted by giving them some pics of Blackbird's perches and some dimensions I've scavenged off forum members, and they got pretty darn close. I know it's a little on the hemispherical side and the rope bulges, Blackbird, but I've tested it with a leash and pulling along the long axis of the perch and the ring slides over quite well. The feet are a bit short, but not too bad. As its going to be on the lawn most of the time anyways, I have some spikes to keep it from tipping when the bird bates. Over all, it weighs about 8 pounds.. should be good for a male RT.

To make it even better, the welders were very nice and gave it to me for free :D

(Okay Blackbird, now you can shred it )

Im not going to "Rip" It Fawkes, you already know my issue with it :yawinkle:
I do have concerns acout the weight also, a male Red would probably able to drag it but if not left unattended it will probably be fine.
Its a judgement call at the end of the day and the binding looks exelent8-)

I would have it modified as shown but if your happy with it then you crack on girl :supz:

That would have been my suggestion, also. Five minutes with a grinder and another five minutes welding and it will be perfect, even for BB!<vbg>

Personally, I would not want the ends of the bow at a steeper angle than 45 degrees.
