Ive recently put my HH down to moult just as the field directly behind my aviary is being developed for housing and my bird is going nuts. There is nothing i can do about the noise and disruption which is obviously going to be all sumer long, so i am thinking about taking her back up and fly her through the summer.Has anyone else had a disrupted moult? Will the fret marks be too severe if i was to moult? Has anyone been in similar position? advice needed as i have always let my birds moult through summer.

hi alan, i personly dont know why people go on about the moult so much, sure the bird will get fret marks and the likes, that is if the diets **** but provided the diets good giving rat and quail the bird will not suffer, if you give you bird a good flight and a rat when you call her in 2 days later you should be able to fly her again, wild bop just dont stop come the moult, our problem, the falconer that is-is the fact that its turning green and the bird gets hard to follow, i have flown a harris through the moult and it had no detrimentle effect on feather condition and no fret marks, you can also fly your harris a little heavier than you normally do cos the harris is much more biddible than most, regards gordon
