Ive just had a pere saker hatch out with fair size unretracted yolk sac. Ive lost chicks in the past by removing part of the sac....How do you all deal with this ??:!: :x :x

Cheers,
Wolf

In "Falcon Propagation" by The Peregrine Fund, Inc there is an in-depth discussion on how to deal with this problem.

Nick fox shows how to massage a semi retracted yolk sack in to the chick with a small paint brush in one of his videos dealing with incubation and hatching. I dont know if this will be of any use to you but maybe you have it knocking around.

put a dab of vasaline on it and try to keep it moist, you may be able to work it in or it may obsorb it itself. but you should be thinking why has it emerged with too much yolk sack have you helped it out if so it was done too soon.:yawinkle:

Good question. Personally, the few I've seen I've let them die. If it is very minor it should take of itself.
