Heavy weight reduction. Only ever approaching and handling the bird with food. Also make sure you have enough time to keep the bird flown therefore stimulated, also enough game for it to become independant. Get good flying land before getting the bird if possible.

If you are not flying or exercising the bird and therefore calling to glove or lure, then food is best given without the bird seing you do it, either thro a hatch or down a tube for example. Holding a bird at low weight and not giving it enough stimulation, as in flying. If we are talking HH here, then get it out on the creance as soon as it is hopping to the glove and free flown after quarry as soon as you can. You have less chance of loosing a bird if it is off the fist after a rabbit and nails the bunny...it isn't going any where then
You need loads and loads of quarry rich land and a way to put it up to serve your bird. Plus loads and loads of time. 1st year HH can be very "chatty", some silent. Be prepared for a bit of noise, if you have grumpy neighbours you could be in trouble. I think "yappy" dogs can make a bird more noisy, but there is no proof of it.
Get it hunting succesfully quick and you should be fine if it is a correctly PRd bird.
All the best....when do you get it???
