Probably one that suits the land you have permission to hunt and fly on.

it's just fields but i dont know what i will hunt sorry if that sounds stupid. i'm not planning on getting a bop just yet because i want to get some hands on experiance in handling and caring for a bird. i have contacted a falconry in my area about volanteering and i am just waiting for a answer. i think this is the best way to go because i dont want to jump in head first.

can someone tell me why when someone wants to know what bird to start with people latley are saying go for a mhh why not a fhh or a good pr redtail

i think that a p/r red tail will help you better in the long run because (red-tail flyers dont take offence) but they can be stubborn and aggresive and the weight control is a lot finer than a hh so when you move onto the good stuff (hh) then you will be a better falconer and be truly able to recongise the ability of the HH:supz:

what ever bird you decide on
PLEASE try and gain, as much experience as you can
with a falconer that actually hunts his/her birds,
before you go buying !!
there's got to be someone out your way
good luck and happy hawking
by the way i'll always go with a harris male or female

i startdd with a mhh, ace bird to begin with as he was not too big, therefore a less daunting experience
