i would like to know the wingspan of a large martial eagle.i have heard everything from 6.5ft to 9ft,2m to 2.6m.can someone tell me?i know the wedgetailed eagle is the eagle with the widest wingsapn....over 8ft

The Martial eagle at the centre where I help out, is around 6 ft and she is a big bird! weighing 13lb. I think 9ft is pushing it a bit! :rolleyes:

but i have seen an article where they said...a maartial eagle female with 2.5m wingspan

largest bird of prey wingspan belongs to andean condor
in eagle group first is Steller's sea eagle, second whilte tailed sea eagle, true eagles group is represented in this order martial eagle, golden eagle and wedge tailed eagle, as you anglo-saxon says : my two cents !

its not only steller's sea eagles that have 8ft wingspans.wedgetails have an average wingspan of 8ft and above while female bald eagles can also have 8ft wingspans.
