What do you do with your feathers?

We are often asked for Hawk feathers for ‘dream catchers’ and schools for education purposes, etc,. This time of year when I am up to my ankles in primary feathers, I try to oblige so long as there are no A10 restrictions. A new type of request came to me yesterday, “can we have 4 wing and 2 tail feathers from a Hawk?” Why? I said. We stick them in a potato and hang them in the vegetable garden to deter the pigeons. Any ideas on the effectiveness of this or do you know of any other uses for feathers?

God knows about the effectiveness of that mate!! Could work tho!! :D
I keep all of my birds feathers. Will do forever i think. Will come in handy if any imping needs to be done in the future. Just have to keep em in good nick.

i also keep all my feathers, you never know when you need to imp a feather, as too the scaring tecnique urm..... just nod your head and agree with them!!! or give them the feathers out of sympathy!!! stu
