What's the latest people have had there first year spars lay?
I have a pair of creche reared Spars and not much seems to be happening at the moment, a lot of chasing about, unfortunately only have the one cam and that's facing the nest ledge, so only catch glimses of them. There seems to be a lot of twitering going on and I have heard some kek kek kek calls.
Cheers,

That'll be the male shitting himself then.....
And the female saying....."here's dinner".....

Hi sparrow Hawker, I also have two P/R spars, they are last years birds, like you I also only have one camera overlooking the nest ledge.
These two were collected from their breeders on the same day, the female was still with the parents and her siblings had been taken away earlier (not sure when). The male was still with his siblings and parents when I collected him. When they were brought home, they were put straight into the flight together.
The point being that they have always had company, never hunted and are well fed and watered so they should socially accept each other. (I hope).
Also like yours, they are flying around a lot and making the same noises, on their nest ledge I have a small motorcycle tyre with dry building sand inside, it the same as the breeders had. I have plenty nesting material in the chamber too. They have both been going into the centre of the tyre and pushing their chest into the sand hollowing it out more, I don’t know if they are having a dry bath or trying to sort things out. However, it is still a little early and they are young, fingers crossed.
Is there anyone breeding spars this year that might like to sell me one for imprinting thanks

Cheers Ken, set-up sounds very similar to mine. Seems the best way to go is get a young pair together and not hunt with them, I was advised by a few breeders to go down this route.
I was told yesterday that being there first year birds that they wouldn't expect them to lay till at least around the 6th June or so, fingers crossed there's some hope lol.
I know a guy from the N.E of England who breeds spars if that's any help to you, if your interested pm me for his details.
Wish you all the best with your pair,
SH
