my redtail

Hello there im having a problem with my female redtail she is 11 months old and i had her flying to my within 4 weeks of having her and after christmas we went out and two dogs jumped us and managed to brake two bones in her left wing.
she is all better now but now she wont go near me without flying around her cage and she will not jump to my hand any more for food,it is like she is scared of me and i dont want that to happen do i have to spend more time with her or wot please help me stoney..........

I think you need to step back and start from the beginning with her, ie. Manning, then go over the training, I'm sure she will respond quicker the second time around. Good luck and keep us posted.

Did you leave the bird free lofted while she recouperated m8 ,and had little contact with her ??????????
Im no expert m8 but i think she,ll need lots of manning to get back her trust in you ,
Dont take this as gospel as ive only been doing this a few years .

The man needs to do lots of manning and start from the beggining but i feel as though his bird could be in its moult by now, i could be wrong but id start the manning after its moult .September may be i thinks ??????

My red tail is going through her first moult and when she gets all her new feathers is she a adult yet,ive only been doing this a little while and still learning about falconry.

Whats she like hunting and following on ,i could take my red out for hours just following on he was a cracker .

Well when i first had her flying she was doing great but did not hunt, i was just starting to train her up to go for the dummie bunny and then the dogs jumped us and put her out of action for a long time,once i have her trained again i will try for the bunnes.
