Disagree with this one. A travel box is by no means a substitute for a well hooded bird. A hooded bird is easier to handle in the field when preparing for a slip at quarry. It also provides a much easier means of doing the simple things in life such as changing anklets, coping talons, etc.
I am an advocator of hooding all hawks, falcons and eagles that are flown at quarry.
Evan at a late stage in its development a bird can be manned to a hood, its just that a bit more perserverance is needed.

place some food in the box and let her jump in eat the food then jump out ?? show her the box is nothing to harm her and build up her confidence ,then you will find she will go into the box quite happy ,i did this with my young male harris as he didnt like the box now i have to hold him back as he flys to get in the box ?? as he thinks theres a treat in there for him which sometimes there is and sometimes not ,keeps him on his toes ;)

time is what is needed start off with the box in her sight then start feeding near it then the throw some food in she will soon go in do that for a while then start shutin dor for short time what you are aiming for is to make the box a possitive thing a bit difficult at this time of year because the best possitive is hunting ie bird in box then bird hunting had it so mine would shelter in there when it rained

Here here. Do you have a mentor or can you atleast get yourself introduced to one? However, if you do need any more advice then please still use the forum as an added source. There are loads of guys and gals on here who will help you.
Also keep an eye on those facial cuts across the eye area. Any infections could lead to all sorts of problems. Sounds like you need to look at the design of your housing. Do you have any pictures of your housing, so we could give you some constructive pointers?
