When I am typing a post or a pm that requires a lot of text, it seems that when I go to send it I have automatically logged out and it requires me to log back in. Once I have logged back in, I can then see that what I have just typed has disappeared. Is there a way I can change the time out settings for the forum so it doesnt keep logging me out?
STU

That has happened to me a few times. I know copy the txt and if it happens just paste it back in, its a pain tho:(

I cant even copy the text from the reply box, multiple quotes in one post were so easy but now they are a nightmare

If this is too techy send me a PM and we can arrange to chat on the phone.
It sounds like your web browser is timing out on the login session.
If you take too long (probably 15 - 20 minutes) to type your post it would likely time out before the post is submitted.
This could be due to either cookies being blocked (doubt it) or simply because the session timeout has expired.
Everytime you request a page from the webserver it resets a timeout for your session.

Do you have to re-enter your username and password when it kicks you out?
If you do may find it usefull to check the little checkbox which says "remember my details" or "save my login", something along those lines, its a while since I last actually logged on here. Bet I dont even know my passwd :-)

If youre using Tinterweb Exploder, you might find you get better results with a browser like firefox.
Other than that, just try typing much faster :-)

unless the session timeout destroys the cookies then you need to keep logging in with your username & passwd.

i thought the session timeouts where to do with the individual setting by the running site? not the browser settings?
