As you look under the bonnet the heater blower unit is the box situated above the passenger footwell.
It is not a difficult job to replace.
You can get a replacement heater core for it .
Give paddock motors or DLS a ring for the parts.

Land Rover fitted all Defenders with blowers as standard, chucking out any heat was an optional extra !
Keep a scraper handy for the inside of the windscreen at all times !

My blower in my landy works brilliantly. Never had any hassle with it through winter or for condensation always clears my screen quicker than the one in my car or van.

think you might find the heater matrix and blower is all in the one box, under the dash between the seats, hey hey loads of room

a heater in a land rover:lol:
look at you showing off with all your luxuries!
whats wrong with a pair of gloves?
not sure what engine you have in there but if you push the bonnet right up (removing the split pin and washer from the bonnet stand) push the bonnet up to 90 degrees, then it lifts straight off!
access to the heater motor should be a bit easier then.
tip...
cos defenders are quite high (and we are unable to bend half way up our back) stand on a tool box whilst you are monkeying around under the bonnet. oh, and get your self a haynes manual, they really are a doddle to follow
