Hello!!! question for you all!! I used to have a very keen interest in falconry 20 years ago (thanks to my old headmaster at school!), have done a few day courses recently, now considering bird ownership. I have open land 3 min walk from my house approx 3 acres, space for avery approx 9 feet by 12 feet, seperate area for weighing/food storage etc, am looking for help to get started. suggestions for bird etc etc!!!
any help/information be very welcomed!

Hi Mark,
Are you hoping that the open land will be ok for hunting or simply training?
Space for mews sounds adequate.
Many threads recently on ideal first birds, I'd suggest Female Harris Hawk or Male Redtail, have a look through the messages for others opinions.
Only advice I'd give is join some local clubs and find someone willing to help you.

Hello Mark - fill out your profile and I am sure you will find someone on here in your area. Most people are not flying at this time of year however and you may have to wait until the new season starts.
