Just wanted some opinions on this.If a bird has deformed feet or bumblefoot could you still use it for flying and hunting. I know that theres a law preventing injured bop being on show but is this any different?

If it has bumblefoot it wants treating - neglecting will or should result in prosecution!!!

woudnt bumblefoot make it hard for the bird to fly and hunt? if the bumble foot is really bad (like years old) and cant be treated it would be too painful to the bird so not fair!
bumblefoot should be treated as soon as a falconer spots it!!!!

as for deformed feet im not sure?!?!

at the very least before you get a bird you should know what bumblefoot looks like!!!!!!!!! its basicly hot feet and swollen feet!!!!! if not treated it can lead to serious problems!!! often occurs on impact i.e flying to the same post, same perch so try to vary them or it occur after a puncture wound that gets infected!

Soz should have made it clearer. I ment swollen as in lumps which in my experience prevents them from gripping the glove properly?

Bu,blefoot starts as a smoothing of the papillae and a mild infalmmation/reddening of the skin on the ball of the foot - very subtle changes, if it develops into large swellings/bumps then it has progressed too far and at the very least will require surgery or even euthanasia, early stages can be treated quite successfully but that is why it is important to check regularly.
