poped down to kentish falconry this weekend and saw this years birds some stunning pere sakers i was wondering who is going to be at terrys sales weekend .there should be alot of birds up for sale by the looks of things .

Hi Chris...........males fly from !lb 5ozs to 1lb 10ozs Females 1lb 14 to 2 lbs 2 ozs.
The chicks from the Altai are the larger ones the Milvipes tends to throw some of the smaller ones although she has also produced big ones as well

Hi again Chris...........further to my last post on Sunday Simon and I had to catch up a Pere x Saker female for a M8 we weighed her and she was 2 lbs 8ozs after 2 weeks in the Hack Pen so if she had been in there for the full 3 weeks she would have weighed more.
For those of you that don't know in the Hack Pen the birds loose weight for the first 7 to 10 days as they burn off fat flying after the 10 days they start to gain weight as the fat turns to muscle by 21 days they have muscles like golf balls on the side of the chest under the wing, by this time they are flying hard and will do 50 to 100 circuits and still not be panting and are capable of doing the same distance again in the opposite direction so when you buy a bird from here all you need to do is man the bird and get it back in the air as soon as possible before it can loose muscle tone additionally you will also find that you have to cut very little weight from these birds whilst training as there is no fat to remove so response time can be as little as 2 days. To see the Gyrs and big Gyr Hybrids powering around the Chamber is something else, pure power and fitness.

Chris look at the pic with 2 Pere x Sakers on one perch the one at the back is definatley a Male and I think the front one is also a Male but can't be 100% certain.
