Hi All

The pattern is from the excellent book "Understanding the Bird of Prey".... this hood is a #42.... bit too small for Hamish.... so I will make the #43 and we should be spot on. I like the practical nature of the braided top knot and the shape of the hood looks good to I think :)

Hi Andy.... its only on the Slijper pattern that I can do the embossing ...as its not a blocked hood you can do it.... with blocked Dutch hoods you have to "Burnish" the leather .... this flattens the leather... therefore making it very difficult to keep any pre done design.... the only embossing I can do on Dutch hoods is with special tools after the Burnishing process has been completed :)

lovely hood griff, but i personally really dislike braces made of anything other than leather! talons tend to get stuck in anything else i find?
