hi. im new to this so i thought that id say hello to everyone out there.Iv'e been into falconry just for a short while, about 8 years, although ive been interested in birds since i was a 10 year old kid, anyway i started of with a female buzzard, flew her for 3 years until i lost her out hunting one weekend. but luckily got her back after about 3 months from my good friends at the I.B.R. while she was in the aviary moulting she managed to break a wing so that put a stop to my hunting, so decided to find a mate for her and try to breed with her.she's been a very good mother and has had young every year since. while this was going on i got my second bird which was a male gyr/perri who iv'e had 4 exelent years flying/hunting with, My male gyr/perri has now got youngsters so im probably going to fly one of them this year with a bit of luck. was introduced to this by kentish falconry so thanks to him
anyway thats enough for now

flew my brid at partridge etc over my brittany, didnt do do that well, struggled with getting bird into possition dog holding point etc but when it worked it was excelent. had more luck of the fist at magpie's,crow then got my bird at nearly 4 years old on to the kite which he learnt very very quickly, who say's you cant teach an old bird new tricks.

flew my buzzard at mainly rabbit, chased loads of game but only caught half a dozen, but noticed that her weight had to be low to get her interested.but watching a bird chase game is what its all about so i was very happy with her.
