last week one of the engineers for the noritsu photolab , who is a friend of mines and a fellow scot ,lives in ayrshire

and he knows i luv bops and we were talking and he told me his sons friends dad has a few hawks and one of his hawks got electricuted and died and hung upside down for a few weeks till someone took it down

i thought mate, i thought birds can sit on these power cables no probs and he said so did i, so i said maybe he had the bell tied round in the wrong way , he said do they have bells, i said most do, so u can hear where they r etc etc

and only thing i can think of woz either the bell tie woz too loose and it hung down or see the birds wear an anklet and u supposed to tie the bell tie above it and he might have tied it below just above the feet

so it may have touched the cable and killed it

anyone heard of a bird getting electricuted like this

cheers

Maybe the wings touched the other cable and formed an "arc" across both cables. Or it sat on the insulator and bridged the gap.

A telemetry aerial touching a single cable won't harm the hawk.

Unless it is the one the hawk is not sitting on!
