Opocno was very good although it is getting a little too busy now (may have been busier due to IAF last year) so I would personally look to one of the others now. Also the local equipment makers have put their prices up fior the "tourists" so no great bargains are to be had.

Not really an eagle meet though Ben, I think Hybrid is after one of the organised eagle fieldmeets rather than an organised holiday-type venture that you went on - possibly not though :rolleyes:

You could contact Dude on here regarding the Hungarian one. Not sure if Goldie may have been to the Slovakian one but you could try pm'ing him as I know, like me, he has been to the Czech one.

I'm sure you would enjoy the venture Ben went on - it was certainly more than simply a falconry holiday, eh Mr Khalasnikov :rolleyes: - but the meets are a better place to make contacts etc as there are usually plenty "spectators" from the UK and other countries.

Yes it is an eagle meet. I went at xmas and they flew around 5 eagles at deer. It was an organised meet for Czech falconers only. They have it every year and they split into two groups..........so there Mike, you big fool!!!

I know it is an eagle meet but not in the same way as the Oponco fieldmeet, which is what i believe is what Hybrid is after.

Would you reccomend the opochno meet lads?
Iv got a ticket waiting but dont know if i should take up the offer yet, is it worth going all that way? :lol:

I have not been to Opocno....but Mike obviously has. Also ask BB, PCHAY and the rest of the NEFC boys for the eagle DVD...some footage from there I think!

Yes

And it is not too far to travel really.

Beer, food and accomodation is cheap and you will get an insight into flying imprint eagles and gosses.

You will be amazed to see gosses and eagles literally tethered to fences, tyres, anything really outside the pub - and that is before the days hawking begins :shock: :supz:

Cheers lads it does really sound like a good do! and i hope i will be able to make it if i can shake of a few other commitments.

I have heard all about the night life :-o :lol: ;-)
