hi my name is steven and i am new to this site. i have been involved with birds of prey for the last 6 years. at the moment i have a breeding pair of redtails that have bread succesfully for the last 3 seasons. i have recently picked up a foster pair of red-tails to start double clutching, and also another female red tail to be paired up with another male. i also fly a steppe/golden eagle, 2 gyr/saker falcons, i have just recieved on saturday a 3/4 gyr 1/4 saker falcon at nine week old male weighing in at 2lb 12 fat weight which i am going to train for gull control which i recieved from berkut who i also work for doing landfill bird control. i know quite a fair bit about training and management of birds of prey but i have still got alot to learn so would like to hear any hints and tips of training and management.

the 3/4 gyr 1/4 saker falcon is doing great hooding well, preening and rousing on fist un-hooded, and ate 2 chicks on fist today not bad for 3rd day. although baiting alot from the block and not returning. cant thank you enough for the bird at 2lb 12 male it is an absolute topper!

Welcome mate, Good to see you breeding RTs, they should make you a fair penny next year as they were thin on the ground this year, as demand outstripped supply! Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy.

Thank you for the warm welcome ,it's good to know falconers out thier still have a passion for redtiails and are making them thiet next chioce of bird. Not saying that from a breeders point of view, but for the bird in question that has been made very underated in this country due to bad trainig and managment so in turn it should be the falconer who should be underrated and not the bird.:supz:
