Hi Rob........You are more than welcome to come down and stay the night and I am happy for you to bring your bird but I am afraid I have to say no to the Springer, There will be a lot of High value Falcons in the sale and most of them have never seen a dog before and I just can't afford to have any damage done that would make them unsaleable so sorry M8 no dogs.

There is a big Tesco's about 4 miles away M8 open 24 Hours so you shouldn't need to bring anything with you food wise. We have a big urn to boil water and will lay on Tea & Coffe, for food on the Sat night we can decide what we want to do at the time we can get most things delivered fairly quickly but I don't want to organise too much yet as I am still unclear on the numbers attending if people had told me they were comeing then we could have organised better but sadly not many have responded to this thread

Ok just like to say a big thanks to Terry Rachel Simon and Sofie for having us all there and making us fill very welcome. Saturday went really well loads of very nice bird's on show. Terry had Gyr's Hybrids and straight birds on display. All stunning birds. Well done for breeding them Terry and Simon you both make a great team. Wes and I left on Sat morning at 5.30 arrived at 8.30 ish. We both met some real nice forum members that we will defiantly will keep in touch with. I think me and Sara (As the Falcon her bell) drunk 2 crates of Stella between us and were a bit drunk:rolleyes: . By the end of the night Terry was quite ****ed too. Pretty much ever one apart from Wes who was drinking soft drinks all night. Once again Terry cheers mate..

I think me and Sara (As the Falcon her bell) drunk 2 crates of Stella between us and were a bit drunk . By the end of the night Terry was quite ****ed too. Pretty much ever one apart from Wes who was drinking soft drinks all night. Once again Terry cheers mate..

PS a few pic's

Thanks for posting the pics mate, Brilliant!!!

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWSOME!!!!
First of all thanks to Terry, Simon, Rachel and Sophie, you gave us all a very memoreble weekend!! It was absolutely fantastic!!
The birds where stunning and we brought a couple of really nice imprinted aunatumms with us back.
As for Stella.......from now on, Finnish is my 4-ever drinking partner. What a good laugh and what a nice guy (he could drink almost as good as me....) I brought 24 tins of fosters down (that I dont drink) and 6 bottles of wine (that I intended to drink....) but ended up costing Lee a fortune on Stellas...   Sorry mate, I owe you large!!!!!!
Had a fantastic time on Saturday night and have to say, it could not have been a better group of people there.
Everyone matched perfect and got on really well with eachother. Me and Mark meet some new very good friends and some old very good friends and truely enjoyed ourself!!!
To be totally honest I would go to this sale 10000 times rather then to the falconers fair!!!!
This was a truely nice evening with very good laughs and really genuinly nice people and a relaxed athmosphere!!
Again, thanks to you all on Kentish and thanks to you all forum members who was there.
Cant wait to get together again.
To the rest of you, god, you really missed out on a good weekend!!!:goodman:

Well better late than never but just got back online.
Terry what a doo it was fantastic you had the whole thing set up so that guests had a great time this was not aimed at making money it was about people havin fun an getting to know eachother and the ones who made the effort really did what a quality weekend.

To everyone i met hello and hope to stay in contact again met some real nice people and made some good memorys.

Some great birds and good stands made the event even better but the real trophy of the event was socialising thankyou so much to Terry, rachel, sophie and simon great people who i will hold in high regard from here on out.

Sara (atfhb) and mark were the highlight of the event for me mark should be on stage the guy can talk, joke (really he is funny) play a guitar and do all three at the same time great people who i will stay in touch with.

Andy younger thanks for taking pics of my bird mate cant wait to get them nice guy.

To all that genuinely couldnt make it you missed out really missed out

When I first signed on the forum it was to try to support some of my friends in the UK who breeds falcons to make a living. The very frequent comments we read on here went in style with:
"all big breeders sell all the good falcons in the UAE and we britts get left with all the sh*t birds that the arabs dont want".
I tried to educate some of the people on here as to why we sell in the UAE rather then in the UK and why some birds are expensive and others are not....like a ferarri and a old ford.......
Terry went one step further, he did what people asked him to do. Instead of adverting and selling early to the UAE clients he asked us on here about 6 month ago what the interesst would be if he had a sales day for the UK clients. He most have got around 30 people who said "I defenetly will be there".
So subsequently he held back ALL the top birds he breed this year, birds that normally would have gone straight to a sheijk without even been seen in the UK market. What happened?
A good 75% of the people who showed such an amazing interest in the beginning backed out in the last minute, some with a good reason, some just could not be bothered.
So Terry sold some of the falcons, to who?? The same sheijk who buy every year and would have bought the birds with or without the sale in the first place. I dont know how much Terry made from the sale that he would not have sold anyway, but I have a strong feeling it did not cover even half of the cost for the sale.
So this is why it matters. Some people need to think before they put their hands to the keyboard to write something, and I never ever again want to hear someone complaining as to why we dont sell our birds to britts, because most of you dont even deserv the birds in the first place!

And i dont think its up to the mods to decide who deserves a bird its up to the Falconer themselves who should ask themselves if they deserve one or not.[/quote]

Im not speaking as a moderator, I am speaking as a breeder of falcons.
As for who deservs a falocn, no it is not up to the falconer, it is up to the breeder/seller to decide who he/she want to sell to. No wonder many large breeders dont like to sell to the UK falconers, that was the point I was making.

I believe it is up to the Falconer on there conscience if they deserve a Falcon or not. Yes the breeder has a massive part in it but first decision is with the Falconer. And here is the point i was making and yours is understood as i can defo see where your coming from in this.

The final choice is down to the breeder, he or she has the final say on whether he or she wants to sell a bird to this particular person?

And i can see where k9 is coming from, that people should think before commiting to somethings, it isnt a major task? Buts all to easy to have miss understandings on forums.

buzbe the original point sara was trying to make was that not so long ago there was a big thread on here about large breeders exporting all here young in bulk and keeping back what they couldnt sell to the arab market for sale to uk falconers

at the time me and sara disagreed about weather the breeders should make sure that good quality birds were avalable to the uk falconers

saras point was that making more good quality birds avalable to the guys here wouldnt work because we either wont pay the prices or simply wouldnt show enough intrest to make it worth the breeders time

at the time i strongly disagreed with her about that but since the sales weekend was publisised from about jan of this year and in total theres been around 6000 veiws on sales weekend threads full of people raving about the quality of the birds he's produced yet very few people turned up so i stand corected

im not going to get into slating people who didnt go i didnt manage to make it myself due to having to move house over that weekend

but the point is dont be suprised when the birds your looking for arnt available because if i was in sara or terry position then the nice folks in abu dabi would get the lot

buzzbee. i dont think you understood the context of K9,s remarks. what he said was 100% spot on. the ammount of people who were supposed to be going would have filled the place. there was only a handfull of us but we still had a good time.

terry hired a disco and made arrangements for trade stands as well as having a very good line up of falcons for sale.

there is always a couple of people who cannot attend due to personal issues which cannot be helped but K9 was talking about the ammount of interest and people saying "that will be great" and "i will be there" and not going!

OK lets try to put the whole sorry episode to bed once and for all.
Firstly thanks to those that did attend and I am pleased you all enjoyed it. The weekend was not all about makeing money I put it on as a Fun night for the Forum Members, As has already been stated I was not going to have a Sales Weekend this year but I allowed myself to be pressured into having one along with a Forum Members Rave Up. If I had sold enough birds to cover my costs I would have been more than happy but over the whole weekend I sold one bird for £550 and that did not even cover the cost of the Marquee that we hired.
RednoseK9 Wez was here and he was upset and felt I had been taken for a fool by a number of Forum Members which if you knew what went on as Wez does you would understand why he said it. I have about 30 PM's from Forum Members saying on the Friday/Sat we are coming, we are on our way, see you later etc etc, I spent £250 on beer alone to get the party going I hired a professional Disco for the night after being let down by the Live Band we had booked we catered for a minimum of 50 people and of the 100 or so members who said they were coming in the begining only 7 turned up for the Party and I sent the Disco home at 10 pm when he was booked to play untill 02.30/03.00. We had a good time and we all enjoyed ourselves and the party finally finnished at about 6am.
So lets not have anymore of the K9 shouldn't have said what he did Buzzbee you don't know what went on and you certainly don't know about the lead up to all of this because you were not a member then.
I have waited untill today before saying anything so I could calm down a little and believe me what Wez said is mild compaired to what I wanted to put on here.

fair dues terry, , as i said up untill 2hrs before i was due to leave to come down with wullie jenkins,i was going, the guy who was bringing wullies gos from ireland, was due on friday, said he couldnt make it till saturday, so wullie pulled out, which left me to drive a 1400k round trip by myself ,to a part of the country id never been to before, so i pulled out ,apart from the £200 it would have cost me in diesel ,the deciding factor was i just didnt feel comfortable making that kind journey by myself,,,

Unfortunatley due to business reasons i could not make it even after busting my balls of to try to.
It was an event i dearly would not of missed along with the opportunity to meet more forum members, especially Sara!
But alas, all the best laid plans.
I did call to give my apologies and feel upset that terry has put a lot of effort and finance into the past weekend.
I think terry knows why i could not make it, but then he has had all my money anyway on his excellent birds.

Hi Chris it was nice to see you as well, we must of had a good night as I am still finding beer cans all over the place. Marquee went today and it looks a bit bare in the Paddock now without it.

I think Simon smoked them :weedman: He will try anything once or twice or 3 times even 4 times just to see if he likes it or not and if there is any doubt he starts again  took him months to decide he liked Brandy and now I have to hide the bottle:lol:
