sounds perfect but have the eggs sitting under stairs which is the coolest bit of my house and still 21 degrees. The eggs will ruin if I dont get them in the incubator very soon at that temperature...its warming up so they can go in tomorrow but lost the instruction to it!!!! thanks for the help though.

Don't forget to turn them once every 24 hrs. While in storage

Just hatched 6 out of 10 bobwhite eggs on a brinsea octagon 20 dx at 37.8 degrees, hatched on day 24 and I did not increase humidity 2 days before, I am finding with quail and bobwhites a better hatch rate with no increase in humidity ?
Cheers Heike

That's very interesting (although contrary to most incubator operating instructions). Have any of the other quail experts got any comments/theories?
Would be interested to hear them.

I do most of my eggs under hens which i dont have to much trouble with but I find bob white to hatch better and quicker in an incubator at 37.2 and humidity 60-70%

they wouldnt hatch at all in my incubators at 37.2..... thats fine for a forced air/draft incubator but 2 degrees out for a still air! My hen has 6 pheasant chicks at the moment hatch 11 out of 15 which was ok but her pen mate prompty killed 4 ! well taught me a lesson I suppose. so shes out of action incubator it is .I have 42 eggs in it so I keep you posted.

nine out of 42 eggs were 'clear' which is ok as they had been through the post on the hot days! 31eggs still going strong.

i take it they are off the birds you got from me? i was having 100% hatchrates with the parents of those birds. 37.9 dc. no water in the incubator until the that last 48 hours, bird began piping within hours of the humidity going up.
