A big nervous hello from deepest Yorkshire, first time I have been on a forum, hope my spellings ok.
I am new to Falconry, but have taken the first slippery steps! I am taking delivery of a male Harris, at the end of September. Hoping to gleam words of wisdom from you more experienced guy's out there, as my knowledge base is zero! But the spirit is more than willing. Already secured flying/hunting ground and my main project is to provide suitable housing and furniture, I am sure this will be a steep learning curve.......
regards
David

No doubt you will have loads of questions so start putting them up so that hopefully you will get the advice you need .

Well at last someone noticed!!
First off Tucker welcome to the Madhouse better known as the IFF I hope your going to like it here buckle up your seat belt and let the ride begin.
It is a shame you did not join this Forum before you ordered you first bird but now you have so there is not a lot we can do about that is there?
Get yourself some good books and start reading up, the local Libary should be able to get you some of them. Next find a club near you and join it and ask as many questions as you can try to find someone local who can help you design a weathering and get it built asap. Find a supplier of Falconry Equipment such as Falcon Fabrications or Falconers Emporium both of whom are Sponsors on this Forum Just look on the front (Home) page left hand side and click on Sponsors ring them and take advice on the equipment you are going to need.
You only have a few weeks in which to prepare yourself so you best get onto this as fast as you can.
Fill in your Profile you will find this in UserCP top left of your screen on Home Page please put in details of your rough location there may well be a member on here local to you that could start to help you out but untill you give us some clues we can't offer any assistance.
Under normal circumstances we would have advised you to join a club or find a local Falconer who would be willing for you to tag along for the first season so that you could see first hand what is expected of you and the bird and also someone to advise you on housing food suplies etc etc you will also need to find a good Avian Vet as well, In this case you have jumped the gun and jumped in with both feet. Is there a local Falconry Centre that could offer you a course because you are going to need it.
Keep asking your questions and PLEASE fill in your Profile
