hi to everyone, i am pretty new to falconry, my first bird is a male harris who is one year old and flies at 1lb 10 1/2 oz

hes either very big or you need to consider dropping his weight if you want him to hunt?

yeah he is a big boy who has been entered. he has taken pheasant, partridge,rabbit, a vole and a few other small birds. he seems to be keener on feather rather than fur but hopefully he will get more confidence as he gets older as there is a lot of rabbit around here. he is not very keen on tackling hare, i think they are a bit big as he gets over the top of them and then pulls away. i have tried dropping his weight a bit more but he doesnt hunt as well. he has caught pheasant at 1lb 11oz
