i stoped going to the quiz cos my latin is ****, is it a fire crest erm!.......not sure, i think there's two birds that would argue for first place on this one,one could be a gold crest. not entirely shure about a fire crest, it's open to debate, maybe we should trap some and weigh them.......yeh right only pulling guy's, if you live in the sunny south then it's the fire crest, more commonly it's the gold crest which is smallest, i don't think there's any documented evidance givving either the smallest european bird title, but the gold crest is more commom country wide, while the fire crest is generaly limmited to southern counties,and norway spruce plantations.

both the fire crest and the gold crest are documented to be the smallest, being phisicaly more or less identical, in appearance both birds ars remakably alike,they both have a yellow crown which are spread in dissplayed to reveil orange feathers, to which were both named,the fire crest has a bold white eye stripe between two black stripes, the gold crest has a black eye set in a pail face, these are probably the only easily recogniseable distinguishing features between the two.
