Already got em' They are the rubber mud catchers if that's what ya mean. I have had them in all my trucks so far. I like your dodge and I even looked at a few. I really wanted the mega cab 4x4, but they wanted too much.

Yep, I mean the mud catchers.
The megacabs were nice, but not that nice..... They wanted around 40 grand for one, and I just couldn't see it. That's WAY too much money!

Yea, they have that employee pricing **** here that makes you think the price is low....It just means they are not going to allow you to haggle....I had them down to 36,500 for the 4x4 mega cab hemi 1500, but that puts my payments around $700 a month...too much! I got this 4x4 crewcab 5.4 liter for 30,000 out the door.

noel...them wheels neep pimping to match the rest of it....
also in the uk a gallon of fule is about $7.50....so if you convert that over to what you lot pay its doing about 40-45 per gallon

Well Gaz,
The price of fuel here has gone up 50% since last yr. Now that your great company(BP) didn't do any maintenance on their pipeline in Alaska the price of fuel is expected to go up another 30-40%. I would not dought that the price of fuel is close to $4 a gallon by the time you guys get here.
That may not seem like much to you guys, but you have to remember that we are really spread out over here and we have to drive 2 to 3 times as far just to go anywhere. Just to get to most of my job sites I drive 40 miles one way. Like I have said before, for me to go spend some time down at Noels, I have to drive 1000 miles to get there. The NAFA meet is about 500 miles away.

Amen to that Greg! I drove over 3000 miles round trip to trap my Harris Hawk! I just drove to Maine and back to see family and to vacation. That was 1000 miles each way. I drive about 50 miles round trip every day to work. I love my pick-up truck (picture attached), but I'm really starting to think about getting rid of it and getting something smaller with better mileage.

those trucks are handsome!
are they the ones with the big hemi engine?
the british automotive industry could learn a lot from the us market.

Hi NEHH,
Jimmy's truck (a Dodge) probably has the Hemi engine. Noel's and mine are Fords. Noel has the 5.4 liter V8, mine is the smaller 4.6 liter V8. I get about 18 miles per gallon if I'm on a long trip, all highway. Back and forth to work, I get about 13 mpg.

thats pretty thirsty!
maybe time to go down to a 3 litre diesel. a good one these days will give you 30-40 miles per gallon on a good run

Wow, I like that little car...What does it get? 50mpg? They are talking about bringing those here to the states, but the only folks that will buy them are the yuppies so they can show them off to their friends at the tofu bar....
I just got rid of my diesel ford. I had the 7.3 litre engine in it and it went like a bat out of hell. I had the computer chip upgraded to give it almost 380hp with 700ft lbs of torque and it still got 17mpg

i cant see those tin pot "CARS" making it on the u.s scene. imagine crashing into one of those big trucks?
it would be like squashing a bug, the guy in the 4 wheel drive probbably wouldnt even notice, besides its just not the american way!
over there you need a motor that kicks ass!
driving a "smart car" you really would be a laughingstock....
a bit like here in the uk:lol:  :supz:

LOL!!! The big thing here now are these Hybrib cars. Honda, Toyota and Ford are making them now. Quite a few of them on the road too...They have quite a dork factor related to them though.

ha ha! its the same here, they may well take off here in the long term, (especially if the government continue taxing hell out of us 4x4 drivers)
but i recon if we all sold our bigger cars they would find some excuse to tax the smaller ones!
they dont fool me!

what gets me is these hybrid cars arnt that good in terms of mpg having to carry all the baterys and **** around when the engine is runing
far beter to drop the tax on bio fuels and let us all go round with 4x4's smelling like chips
