if you got the money and dont mind the colour you can't go wrong with a Martin Jones double for most birds. I got one and love it to bits lol! But apparently the green falcon crest are highly regarded and used all over the place. Both of these gloves are thicker and will provide better protection against's the stronger birds or if any bird get's worried and grips - Ben long's leather is soft but as I found out with a nice red tail and a couple of Harris's its easy to puncture.
Apart from that they are nice gloves!

go for an elk glove. soft, hard too pucture, (yeah you will certainly feel everything as though you had something in your hand) durable, and if washed will still be soft. Plus i found that in a cold morning the kept your hand warm.

Yes indeed. try the sponsors first, as a matter of courtesy if nothing else. Ben Long's are now allegedly made in the Far East. There are posts on the forum from purchasers who are less than happy with the quality.

I can highly recommend Julian's gloves (falconers emporium). I bought one. It was expensive, but compared to the other gloves I have seen and worn since, I think it is worth every penny.
I don't know him by the way, just a satisfied customer.

Personally Martin jones gloves (if you like the colour) and ben long's gloves are the best I've used, but as with any piece of equipment it how you treat it that determines durability and longevity. If cleaned and treated on a regular basis either should last you many many seasons. Always buy the best quality you can get IMO, if you buy sh*t it's gonna stink.
ben longs gloves are very good

Hi,
Why not make your own glove, it's much more satisfying and easy to do try it
I do and then if you make your own jessies you can have them match and show the bird off!

For longwings, male HH, or smaller accipiters, Doug Pineo's "Pendleton" $35, can't beat it.

yep i'l go along with that elk for me too.
my first glove was a falcon crest glove, would still be going strong now if my brittany hadnt got hold of it when he was young and daft, i know it's the wrong time for you mate but the falconry fair is the place to buy a glove, you can view hundreds and try them on to get the feel and size you want, another tip mate, after i baught the falconcrest glove, i then baught a cheap second hand one off ebay, when i was in the field on real muddy days,or feeding chicks on the glove i'd use the cheapy, when i was manning in-doors, or flying on dryer days, i'd use the quality glove.

Over the years I have gone through many gloves by many manufactorers and in thruth if you buy the best quality it is hard to choose between makes.
I have Martin Jones Gloves and I have Falcon Crest ( I have known Frank and his family for many years). Of late I have been using Julians Gloves (Falconers Emporium) he just made some Eagle gloves for us and I have to say they are top notch I also have the Gamehawker glove. The true test will come during the Hunting season but I have to say price wise and for quality Julian is up among the best and he is also a Forum Sponsor so why not support him with your order
