Well, get for yourself or from the library some book like "Falconry for Beginners" or "Training birds of Prey" or "The modern falconer" or "Falconry on a wing and a prayer" etc etc and READ.
Next find a centre and go and watch them fly the birds. Go on a course. Try and find a friend around Peterborough (come on guys, help this man!!) who might let you come and learn how to handle the birds, tie knots, clean out mews, feed etc. Then get all your equipment ready, jesses, swivel, lead(s), scales, mews, creance,e-Bay has lots under falconry.
THEN decide what you want to get for a bird, hopefully something like a male harris and train it under the eagle eye of your friend. He will tell you what food to get and where from and how much to feed. I can't help I'm in Scotland. Jax
