depending on the size .. ie; jess , aylmuri .. we were advised to place it/them between our hands rubb like hell and then crush and squeeze ...repeatedly ...
(oooooo makes you eyes water don't it !!!! )
for 10 minutes of more ..
microwaving really isn't a good idea .. you should see what i can do to a poached egg in ours ..
little bits of yellow and white things welded to everything ..

i personally use neatsfoot oil and brush it on.
because it is more of a liquid it soaks into the leather very well and there is no need to rub it vigerously to help it soak into the leather with dressings such as co-cho-line.
i apply this about twice and it soaks in well. there after i apply it occasionally to protect the leather.
i also find that neatsfoot soaks in and does not become tacky like other applications such as bees-wax or co-cho-line.
neatsfoot oil is dry to touch and very well ingrained in the leather forming a good waterproof seal.
if i were to use co-cho-line i would use my fingers to apply.

Mucilene line dressing from angling ...
(not being flagged as an alternative )
there are two one for mono line the other for braided ...
it was because i hadn't the three ingrediants for co cho at hand ...
and i needed something in a hurry ..
well it has out performed my expectations ..
not sticky
not slippery and the jess are soh tough without being hard ..
