Not sure if this should be in a falconry section.
I have been wanting to film a falconry dvd and will hopefully get my chance this season or next. What i would like to know is what music falconers want to hear on dvds.
None at all, just the sound of the bells and maybe commentary?
Heavy metal for the flights and slower music for non-action? ie a possible mix of all genres
Metal all the way :supz: (my personal choice)- metallica, slayer, dragonforce, rammstein (also metallica played by apocalyptica), slipknot etc etc.
Classical-anything you hear on a bread advert
Rock-black sabbath, the who, jimmy hendrix, queen, the beatles etc
I will leave this without the voting jobby so people can give more opinions, this is just an idea. Please give a genre, specific bands and also a specific song that might suit.
Cheers
James

Ambient back sound with mellow music, you'll find the best music is the stuff no one remembers........
Classical is best.
What camera are you using and what editing software????? Its hard work but good fun CZ.

Leave off the commentary, keep it raw! :supz:
Been a fisherman I hated it when suddenly they decided that what anglers want to hear is boring and dull electric guitar riffs...
So. Cal. Dirt Hawking probably has the best soundtrack but i'd rather hear whats going on.

I haven't started yet i am just planning. I will need to think carefully about what camera and see how much i need to really invest, either that or recruit some drama student with their expensive gear from college which might not actually be a bad idea

Nope.....get on ebay and get a second hand one........also editing software is £39 from Dixons. Click and drag and your away....however it takes ages to get the right flight, I find it well hard, maybe 4 seconds out of every 40 minutes of footage. :-x

Are you trying to film it yourself? I have tried that but as soon as i cast her off i start running so i don't miss the flight, and i get there quickly to help dispatch. My dad loves editing and is actually pretty good now after abut 300 hours working on holiday clips so thats sorted. I want to do it all myself but to get good quality footage its just not going to happen and i need more than my hawk on the dvd to make it interesting. I have something up my sleeve for next season though ;-)

How about the music from apocolipse now film where the helocopters attack the village. Just make sure you film some birds coming out of the sun for the opening sequence to the song.

Alright so the unanomous decision is nice calming music that doesn't distract from whats going on. I am a bit disappointed to not include some metal so if i do get a decent dvd together i am making 2 versions . One for metal heads one for normal civilised folk.
I do like apocalyptica though, they play stuff like metallica but with violins and such i think it would be a good balance..?
Anything by David Cassidy or Donny Osmond:supz: Watch out for royalties:lol:

You got it in one m8, you need to buy a license to play the music and the price on this is dependent on artists and numbers of dvd`s you plan to produce.
All the top artists will cost you thousands, and believe me there are people that are constantly looking and upholding copyright laws with big fines.
