im sure this has been asked before but had a wee look thru some threads n couldnt find it.
what is involved in making a falcon to a kite? how high will you need to get the kite? do you cast off the falcon first then send up the kite or vice versa? how do you attach the lure to the kite? is it possible to use a kite to take a lure/carcas of a bird up and have some sort of mechanism to drop the lure/bird from the kite at height to train the falcon to stoop at it?

Hi,

If you go to the Falconers Emporium web site, they have a pretty detailed link on there. Where I got all my initial info from. Hope this helps

I get the bird used to the sight of the kite first. Set up the kite and leave it in the garden not to close to the bird for a few days before taking the bird into the feild with it.
PS. it's good for retreving lost birds, as they become used to association with kite and food.
good luck.

Shame you didn't buy any equipment off us or did you?;) anyway i must state that my advice on my site is now considerably out of date ( after all this is a constantly evolving technique) and the information on that page was based on two article I wrote for Falconers mag at the time. HTH
