Just found out we lost another piller of the Falconry world.
I don't have any info on when he was born, but he passed away yesterday also.
Here is what I recieved from Darryl Perkins through Graham Irving....
It is with much regret that I have to inform you that one of our sports "old masters", Geoffrey Pollard, died suddenly at his home in Hertfordshire, England yesterday. At this moment in time I can supply no further information as to funeral arrangements etc, but I will keep you informed of things as they progress.

It seems ironic, or perhaps not, that at a time when excitement is building for the coming season and anticipation is high for the upcoming NAFA meet with it's international flavor; that we've lost yet another stalwart of our sport. When you think of Geoffrey Pollard and his passion for falconry, particularly flying Red Grouse with peregrines, other icons of the sport like Ronald Stevens, Steven Frank and Roger Upton come to mind.
He joined NAFA in 1962 was voted to lifetime Honorary Membership at the board of directors meeting held on November 26, 1965. To quote his longtime friend Col S. Kent Carnie, "He was a die hard grouse hawker and hawked grouse for 40 years." Peregrines at Scottish Red Grouse over a fine brace of English Setters were his passion. Oh behalf of the Board of Directors and Officers, I'd like to express our sorrow at the loss of another Honorary member. He was preceded in death by his wife Dianna and is survived by two sons, James in the UK and Nicholas of Springfield MO. I will pass along any details that I receive in the coming days. Keep your powder dry!
Regards,
Darryl A. Perkins
NAFA President
