My Friend Andy Bunting and I have just returned from a trip to Saskatchewan that included spending time with both Canadian and American Falconers at the 50th anniversary field meet of The Saskatchewan Falconers Association. What a wonderful trip The quality of the flights and falconry in general, (in sometimes less than ideal conditions especially high winds)I felt in my humble opinion to be of the highest order. Every hawk ( flacon) was well turned out, and without exception strived to make their chosen pitch and most waited on with exceptional obedience.
The Huns almost seem another species to our Perdix perdix in their tactics and as for sharptail Grouse... wow! what an awesome quarry!
I wish to also make a point of thanking the following for their kindness and hospitality during our stay ( I shall be writing to those individuals ~ you know whom you are ;o) whom made the trip especially memorable). Therefore thanks go to: (in alphabetical order)
