any tips welcomes.
how can you prevent your BOP destroying the wings on a lure?
Each time exposed to the lure she rips the wing actively attacking/biting breaking the joints/bone in them even in preference to taking the garnish meat.

get there quick and get the food there asap before the destruction of the lure takes place... and cover the wings with your glove until the food is being taken. maybe change the food item to one the bird likes more.

put some food on it to start with, or get there quick and get the food there asap before the destruction of the lure takes place..the latter is my prefered method
My post said 'in preferance to the garnish meat' ie she ignores it at concentrates on the wings. She seems to take pride in ruining them! (even with me trying to cover them with my meat laden gloved fist..
Can you get fake wings???

Give her a lure with no wings on it! After she gets used to eating the garnished meat on it, switch back to the lure with wings on it and see how she does.

yes mate..i did read it:roll: . if you have a glove fully covering the wings, she cant break them. and what food are you using for her, she might prefer somthing else??? i have a hawk that would sell her soul for a DOC even when sat infront of a fresh (opened) rabbit. so experiment with the foods and see how you go.

The hunting instinct is very strong.....she doesnt realise it is a lure ( she is fine on a dummy bunny) she has her feet (through catching) and her beak on the wings instantly and the wings are broken in seconds.
Might try a rabbit leg on the lure though.....that may distract her from the wings by nigh on covering them before she gets to them..... then Ill have to get her off that......which will end up with a footy harris!
Indestructable fake wings are what I need.
