had a bad day today sage managed to rip the top buttons on her jessies off and go on a free fly.was so lucky as she was out and a falconer nr me found her and rang the ibr,
is there anything you can put on the leather like the stuff you put on kids nails to stop them chewing at them or is there a better system not bullets as the rips them to bits
regards
ian
u can buy sum thin rope at mountain climbers shops. Than u can use 3 spinning to make one jess. like this:

U spin the 3 pieces together at the opposite of the pieces than u connect the ends(end of the slit) and continue spinning the 6 ropes just as u does it with the 3. U just have to use 2 ropes instead one.
Dan
ps: When u make the knot on on the jess u have to make piece of leather to prevent the knot from the aylmeri. Its an O shaped piece of leather between the knot and the aylmeri.
oh forget to mention if 2 of the 3 pieces of rope damaged than one can hold ur bird till u made another, but It never happened with me. Always just one damaged.

You need to get hold of Doug Pineo, in the states, he makes a sort of braided jess, out of some sort of american material!! the jesses are completely indestructable, from any sort of biting, I have a pair, to put on new falcons, they are like flexable steel!!! attached to one of his titanium swivels! to stop anertia, youl be sorted!!

When you say bullets do you mean the originals because i have a a harris that rips apart all the leather jesses he has worn but with the bullets no problems!

I strongly suggest you do NOT use the bullet jesses for tethering your bird. They are primarily for use in the field for easy release (not flying jesses either)
Ian, the type Dude suggests are perfect for what you require if the correct material is used.
PM me your email addy and i will forward pics and instructions on how to make them.
