First ,thank you to all who have mailed my web site asking about the video/DVD..
I have confirmed several hoodmakers who will contribute to the project as well as a professional saddlemaker..
First,, the hoodmakers..
Dennis Maynes, hoodmaker, Chinook block creater, as I have already mentioned I have already sent out some early footage to a few and the feedback has been incredible..
Dennis will be offering his tips on gluing techiniques, not only with the Dutch hood but Syrian, Arab and of course the ever increasing popular "Weyburn" He will also discuss how to place and set the hood on a block.. You can make a great hood but if the placement on the block is not 100% on your block it will not be balanced.. Also,, His insight and following discussion and tips on the Beak Opening will provide an eye opening experience, never seen before..
For sewing the Dutch hood, Scott Webster will offer his technique and style.. Anyone who has seen his hoods and his extrememly tight stitch will agree there is none better.. He will also offer some tips on dying the hood as well as some very interesting top knot designs..
I am hoping to have a few surprize guests as well.. I do not want to tell all but this production will be well worth it.. I have hooked up with a graphic designer who is willing to computer enhance all patterns,, so that they are clear, precise and absolutely the finest hood patterns available..
I am starting shooting of the final project in Feb. My journeys will take me to beautiful British Columbia Canada, Las Vegas Nevada and Idaho USA and of course Manitoba Canada..
I have asked a publishing company in Michigan to print and handle the book that will accompany the video/DVD..
In a nutshell this will cover all aspects of hoodmaking...
