If that's not been bred by David Hancock or has Hancock in it's blood line I'll eat my hat. I believe it's what they call a champagne mearl, or is it? Collie/greyhound I believe, don't they look different with the wall eye?

Reminds me of two dogs bred by Hancock about 20 years back now. One was called Taff and the other Wendel. And nearly all collie/greyhounds around now have come from these two dogs or their bloodline.

Will try and dig out a few of my old photo's for you.

Here's a pic of my staffy/greyhound I had 20 years back (no laughing at the hair please!!!!)
this dog won nearly every show I took it to - racing and best in show - one of the fastest dogs I've ever seen.

Called him Gypsy

it deffo ain't a hancock mass produced cack. it only has 1/16th collie thank god, the rest is running dog & bull terrier. I wouldn't know what the proper name is for the colour having never shown a dog in my life. And i don't fly a harris.

I've had three lurchers from David.

All first class.

All first class.

Agreed, best dog I've ever owned came from David Hancock. Did every thing I asked of him including working with my Harris Hawk. Just because they are mass produced doesnt detract from their worth. If all you want is a greyhoundy dog to run off a slip at hares then these dogs are not for you, but for ferreting, lamping etc in the right hands they'll do the job everytime.

I have noticed that ther are one or two commercial bop prey breeders who seem to be held in high esteem (rightly) that contribute to this site regularly. Would any of us decry their stock just because it is produced commercially?

With most livestock the commercial breeders are the guys with the knowledge and expertise to consistently produce quality stock!

they'll change colour but i assume the blue will get lighter when it's old , never had one before with blue eyes.

looks like he's wall eyed in this photo, is he? or are they both blue and it's just the photo making him look wall eyed?
what did you call him ?

yep it's wall eyed, called her flick. she's out of 'boy blue', 90% whippet/greyhound with an 8th bull & 1/16th collie, that's a perfect mix for me for various reasons. i'm hopeing she'll make 22 / 23 inch. I'm gonna go all out with her come september.
