Not trying to rock the boat here but I am shocked. The Falcon in question came out of the Hack Chamber at 2lb 7ozs she had not been fed for over 24 hours.
My asumption of the situation was the bird needed to loose 1 or 2 ozs I would have expected her to enter at 2lb 1 to 2lb 2ozs, you have to remember that this bird was as fit as any wild Falcon by this time and her muscles made her feel like a brick 10 ozs off a bird like this is mind blowing to me, When you cut the weight on a fit muscled up bird there is very little fat to remove and normally they eat off the fist within 24 hours so cutting the weight further is cutting into muscle not fat.

As explained Terry...... only just seen her tonight....... and she looked bigger than the "quoted" weight to me. She left with a good fitting hood and it was a hood for the larger Peregrine falcon (not the average) she was in good feather etc...... I am sure the quoted weight must be wrong.

I have to appologise to Pete for the above remarks.
When I checked my Diary I had 2 weights written down on the same page and accidentally put the wrong weight down and assumed the bird had been cut too low but it turns out that the bird was 2lbs 2ozs not 2lbs 7ozs
so once again I appologise it was my mistake not his
