Hi all, I want to ask a question regarding this magnificent falcon:
> Is it possible that this falcon be found in the same habitat with kestrels? I mean, is it possible that when there are kestrels, then peregrines are also living in that particular of area?
Tx a lot!

Near were I live, in Scotland, there are Peregrines living on the cliffs of the local hills and can be seen hunting in the valley below. There are also literally hundred of Kestrels living and hunting in the valley as well. I see loads of them on the way to and from work almost everyday.

A pair of peregrines I've been watching in a quarry for a number of year always has a pair of kestrels nesting in the same quarry no more than 200m from the peregrines.

Thanks for the feed back. I have known that smaller raptor like kestrels will usually have their nest near a bigger raptor's nest. It is because kestrels will likely to get more safety when they are breeding near bigger raptors.
My problem is that, I could find lots of kestrel while I find zero peregrine. Have visited websites which showed that peregrine also living in Java Island by the fact that they are the most widespread falcon in the world (can see from its Latin name too rite), therefore I'm optimistic about getting one soon.
Any one here in this forum who has such detail data about peregrine's living areas in Java? Maybe, I really need that kind of specific data. I could not find peregrine after all this time (about 3 years), even just one. Really appreciate your help!!!
