This will be an exciting year with new adventures for us all! Along with the motel rate being cheaper, we will all be in rooms closer to the weathering yard, (that in itself is befitting a NAFA meet) and all our banquet and raffle needs will be held in one location under one roof. We are going to have plenty of room to spread out and do workshops and other interesting events. We are all really excited about this year’s Winter Meet, and to top it off, we have a very interesting Meet Speaker.
THA is pleased to announce this years banquet and Meet Speaker for our 2007 Winter Field Meet, Mr. Michael McDermott. **See bottom for bio.
Krys Langevin is The Rafflemeister again this year, so please help him out by donating early. If you have items to donate please contact Krys at:
(817) 528-9743 or
rafflemeister@texashawking.org
Don't forget to pre-purchase your raffle tickets. For every 10 raffle tickets you purchase you get 1 free ticket (e.g. spend $10.00 and get 11 raffle tickets or spend $100.00 and get 110 raffle tickets or 10 free tickets.) In order to take advantage of this and save time waiting in lines on Saturday night, you must purchase the raffle tickets prior to January 7th, 2007. Contact Krys today for more information...
With our new and exciting location this year, another fantastic raffle to look forward to, and other planned events still being put together, this is sure to be one of the best Meets ever.
Several of our members will be offering workshops, talks, and premiering their personal DVD’s, including Jim Robinson’s 2006 THA SkyTrials Video on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. (The 2005 SkyTrials video was a big hit last year.)

Michael McDermott Bio:
Mike McDermott has been flying accipiters for the better part of the past 20 years. He is the author of 2 very popular falconry books The Imprint Accipiter (out of print) and Accipitrine Behavioral Problems: Diagnosis and Treatment (currently available). Mike has written numerous articles for many different publications. Mike has recently begun experimenting with tame hacking of cooper's hawks and his findings of this experience will be part of his talk at our Texas Hawking Association Winter Field Meet. Mike’s experimentation with tame hacking resulted in the most "pefectly behaved" accipiter he has yet to work with. Anyone who is thinking, or has thought, about flying an accipiter should not miss this talk.
