i agree, i think some lighter equipment is needed, thinner jess and anklets where the eyelet sits higher up the leg away from the talons. and do away with the hooped earings.

but that said, feather condition is very good, i'm a bit of a tart when it comes to well fitting and suitable equipment.

Many has commented the same thing. I guess I feel allright, but also confuse about 'the right equipment would look like'. Anyhow, that was the best I can do for the equipment. Yes, I've got a book regarding hunting with a kestrel, but still for me who is living in a 'non-falconry country', everything is hard to achieve. Equipment is the biggest problem here, not the raptor or the quarry.

Anyone who would show me the best equipment for a kestrel, I would really appreaciate it.

You can make a simple shelf perch out of scrap timber although it needs to be padded for the hawks feet to stand on helps to prevent bumble foot. Alf.

Thanks for the help mate. I have released her long time ago and seems that I got no problem with her feet (lucky me I guess!!!). I change her perch into a block rightaway after I knew that falcons should be put on a block. She is the biggest female I've ever trained. My third was a female as well, but she is smaller than my first.
