Over the last couple of weeks I've seen a Kessie, trying to take a Magpie and a Jack, assumed on both counts it was young birds desperate for a meal at last knockings.

Its probably that time of year Steve. It just seems to be when temperatures get that little bit colder Kessies seem to suffer a bit. Ive seen some pretty sorrowful states around this time of year. Birds that will just let you walk right up to them cause they dont have the energy.
Saying that I havent seen owt as bold as a Kessie taking a magpie.
