Hi , out with louie today windy as f*** , trying to get him mega fit , decided to fly over the farm builings , this is were he will do most of his flying as there are lots of suitable quarry nearly all year round , i flew a tiercel prairie over them for 5 seasons , the buildings are a grain store, outbuildings , and a cattle yard which on a good day holds up to a 100 starlings , and not quite as many collared doves , i put him up hes very bouant and very quickly makes a good pitch , he goes higher over hedgerows , but today went about 150, i called him over and ran to some small willow trees , there was abuot 15 collared doves , they flushed and he went right through them twisting and turning trying to strike one as they scattered, i then ran into the cattle yard , there were at least a 100, as you approach them they file out the end of the barn i cant see whats happening but some of the starlings are trying to get back in so i can imagine it took me about 5 mins to get the bulk of the flock out, i ran outside and louie is chasing like mad , remember its blowing a gale and theres starlings bombing all over the place , behind the cattle yard theres more willows , 10 doves looking up as the tiercel is on his way over , lobbed a rock into the willows and he stoops and misses one by a nats cock, been on the wing now , best part of half an hour , pulled him in and fed him up , 3 chicks just holds him , job to see over his crop hes only tiny 1,1. cant wait untill tomorrow , wouldnt mind doing a cast of these , now theres a thought , got a imprint prairie at home we shall see, picture coming i promise , had a computer buff over last night untill late will try to get pictures up , cheers , mark.
